Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 3/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 3/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 to 2 1/2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (or 200°C).
  • Cream butter, brown sugar, and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, mix until smooth.
  • Fold in flour, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt.
  • Stir in chocolate chips.
  • Scoop dough onto baking sheet, spacing evenly.
  • Bake for 8–11 minutes until edges are golden.
  • Let cookies rest before transferring to a cooling rack.

Notes

  • Always use room temperature eggs for better mixing
  • Butter should be soft but not melted to avoid flat cookies
