Ingredients
  

  • For the Beef:
  • 1.5 lbs ground beef 80/20
  • 1 tbsp kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • For the Sauce:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2.5 tbsp relish
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tbsp hot sauce
  • For the Garlic Butter:
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 tbsp garlic pureed
  • For Assembly:
  • 8 –10 slices American cheese
  • 4 large croissants

Instructions
 

  • Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Set aside in the fridge.
  • Combine melted butter and garlic for garlic butter.
  • Preheat skillet or grill to high heat.
  • Roll ground beef into loose balls (do not overwork).
  • Place on hot skillet, cover with parchment, and smash thin.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Cook 1–2 minutes, flip, add cheese, and let melt.
  • Lightly toast croissants on the skillet.
  • Assemble with sauce, patties, and croissant bun.
  • Optional: lightly press assembled burger for crisp texture.

Notes

  • Use high heat for a proper smash burger crust
  • Do not move patties too early
  • Toast croissants lightly to avoid sogginess
