Ingredients

  • Dessert Pizza Dough
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons hot water
  • 1/3 cup milk warmed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable or canola oil
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour more or less as needed
  • Cinnamon Crumb Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter softened
  • Vanilla Icing
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon milk more or less as needed

Instructions

  • Combine the instant yeast, sugar, hot water, and warm milk in a mixing bowl. Stir until the yeast dissolves.
  • Add the salt and oil. Stir in 1 cup of the flour and mix well.
  • Gradually add enough of the remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead the dough a few times on a lightly floured surface.
  • Return the dough to the bowl, cover it, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  • Lightly grease a cookie sheet or pizza pan. Roll or press the dough into a 12-inch circle.
  • For the cinnamon crumb topping, combine the flour, brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and softened butter in a small bowl. Mix until crumbly.
  • Sprinkle the cinnamon crumb mixture evenly over the pizza crust.
  • Bake at 375°F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the crust is lightly browned.
  • Whisk together the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth. Add only enough milk to reach a drizzle consistency.
  • Drizzle the vanilla icing over the baked Cinnamon Dessert Pizza. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • The homemade dough needs only 15 minutes of resting time.
  • Add the flour gradually so the dough stays soft rather than becoming too stiff.
  • Use softened, not melted, butter for a crumbly cinnamon streusel.
  • The pizza is best served fresh and warm.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for one to two days. The crumb topping will gradually soften.
