Equipment

  • Blender or food processor
  • Saucepan or kettle
  • Pitcher
  • Fine mesh sieve (optional)
  • Measuring cups
  • Serving glasses

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh mango puree about 1 large ripe mango
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 to 3 black tea bags
  • Honey or sweetener to taste (optional)
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mango slices for garnish (optional)
  • Mint leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Peel and cut the ripe mango into chunks. Blend until smooth. If using frozen mango, thaw before blending.
  • Pour the boiling water over the tea bags and let them steep for 5 minutes.
  • Remove the tea bags and allow the tea to cool slightly.
  • Stir the mango puree into the brewed tea until fully combined.
  • Refrigerate for about 30 minutes, or until well chilled.
  • Strain through a fine mesh sieve if you prefer a smoother texture.
  • Taste and sweeten with honey or your preferred sweetener if needed.
  • Fill glasses with ice, pour in the chilled mango iced tea, and garnish with fresh mango slices or mint before serving.

Notes

  • Use fully ripe mangoes for the sweetest flavor.
  • Avoid over steeping the tea to prevent bitterness.
  • Chill before serving for the best taste.
  • Stir well before pouring, as natural mango puree may settle.
  • Green tea can be substituted for black tea for a lighter variation.
