Ingredients

  • 6 cups rice cereal
  • 4 cups mini marshmallows
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

  • Lightly grease an 8x8 inch pan or line it with parchment paper.
  • Melt the butter in a large pot over low heat.
  • Add the marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  • Turn off the heat. Add the salt and vanilla, then mix well
  • Stir in the rice cereal until everything is evenly coated.
  • Press the mixture gently into the prepared pan
  • Let it cool for about 30 minutes, then cut into squares.

Notes

  • Use fresh marshmallows for the softest texture.
  • Avoid overheating the marshmallows—this makes the treats hard.
  • For extra gooey bars, add ½–1 cup more marshmallows
